"Paper Moon is a dream; an oasis of safe exploration, brilliantly curated learning experiences, and a whole lot of love. Both my husband and I are educators, and I can be more than a little picky about the learning environment my kiddo engages in given my own vision of excellence for child development ecosystems. With that, I have never experienced a moment in my son’s time at Paper Moon that I wasn’t impressed with, and often times in awe of. This is a space where kids can express their full selves, where safe conflict is an important part of growth, and where children are encouraged to find their passions and explore them as they do the important work of building their small but mighty selves each day alongside one another. I can’t recommend Paper Moon highly enough!"- Rebecca Blackall

“I count my lucky stars every day that we found Miranda and Paper Moon when our family moved to Portland looking for a new school for my then 2 1/2 year old and a new community for our family. What we found at Paper Moon has far exceeded my expectations! Miranda has gone above and beyond to create a true community where families not only enjoy social gatherings but also support one another in times of need. She brings huge warmth, incredible creativity, and great variety to the classroom. I love that the kids have ample opportunity to make art, play outside rain or shine, listen to music, and grow together in an environment that encourages their emotional development in a positive way. Miranda is also a great partner in managing the challenges of toddlerhood such as potty-training, napping, and picky eating. She is an excellent communicator and I am so grateful our daughter is beginning her education in her care!” -Julie S.

“My kids were at Paper Moon for 2 years before entering PPS and they absolutely loved it. Miranda is a naturally gifted teacher who communicates love, respect and inclusiveness, not only through the care she takes to plan and prepare meaningful structured activities, but through her naturally warm and welcoming spirit. She is still a part of our lives 2 years later! Not only do our kids love her, they left Paper Moon with invaluable skills that eased their transition into Pre-K and Kindergarten. Obviously, I can’t recommend her highly enough.” -Rachel Wiecking

“ Papermoon Playschool has been the most incredible experience for our 3yr old daughter! Miranda has created an incredible space for kids to explore their intrinsic creativity through art, music, song, dance and play. Rain, snow or shine, kiddos go outside into the expansive backyard and partake in fun adventures; there is even a lovely covered picnic area where they get to enjoy lunch and snacks when the weather allows. While the kids are given the freedom to be themselves, there is structure and routine and this has allowed our daughter to thrive. I am so lucky that we have been welcomed into such a warm community of families and know that our daughter is more confident, social and kind because of the experiences she has had at Papermoon. Couldn’t be happier!!!”-Diana Thompson

"If you are looking for a relaxed, warm and nurturing environment for your toddler to learn, grow, and play, Paper Moon Playschool (PMP) is a wonderful choice. A family member told me that the most important aspect of any school is the teacher and at PMP, Miranda is gold. Miranda is lovely and embodies qualities of mindfulness, patience and gentle child engagement. She treats all the children at her school as if they are her own and they adore her in turn. PMP is a beautiful little school and community for little ones to learn through play. It's a gentle environment with great parents and kids coming together to learn." - Zoe K

"We have been so impressed with our experiences at Paper Moon Playschool - I can’t recommend it enough!  Teacher Miranda infuses our daughter’s school days with love, attention, guidance, language, art, yoga, music, dancing, empathy, and friendship.  Miranda is organized, communicates with all of us so well, and operates an amazing early childhood school.  I have no doubt that all young children will thrive in her care." -Christy Sweany

"Miranda is incredibly caring and has worked incredibly hard to create a positive, nurturing, and educational experience for the kids at Paper Moon Playschool.  Our daughter Luella is always coming home with crafts and stories related to themes they are learning about (the seasons, the holidays, art projects, etc.) and she gets to spend ample time outdoors learning about and enjoying nature.  Miranda has always been great at communicating with the parents, both on things like her teaching philosophy with the kids and spur of the moment things like field trips, snow days, etc.  I genuinely feel very fortunate that our daughter has been able to spend her preschool years in such a quality environment."-Andy Sweany
